The driving in the dark course is mandatory for everyone who wants to get a driver’s license. We hold courses every week from October to March.

If you complete the basic traffic course in the period March 16 – October 31 without a driver in the dark course, you cannot practice driving in the period November 1 – March 15. If you have a driving test within the period March 16 – October 31 without a driver in the dark course, you must take this before January 31 the following year.

The purpose of the course is to give you a better insight into how to use lights when driving, parking and in emergency situations in the dark. In addition, an introduction to risk assessment and common causes of accidents in the dark is given. This will be conducted as a demonstration together with instructions from the teacher.

Once you have completed the course, you will be sent a certificate from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration so that you can practice driving throughout the year. Once all parts of the basic traffic course have been completed, there is no time limit on the certificate.

The course is held at Eikås demonstration course and lasts for 4 hours.
